"Biolars' plant is situated 15 km from Riga and 25 km from Riga free port. Plant occupies the territory of 18.8 ha with built-up area of 7.1 ha. Company was established in 1967 as research-and-production association which comprised R&D institute with 300 employees.
Today, the plant is specialized in the production of chemical products, intermediate products for varnish-and-paint products and domestic chemicals. Three main production departments are established for that purpose: chemical, enamel, and for production of varnishes and resins. The enterprise has developed its warehousing, it has rough and finished goods, an inflammable fluids store, and a customs warehouse. The enterprise disposes of access roads, both motor and rail.
A number of laboratories operate in the enterprise, including a research laboratory developing new types of chemical materials that are so much wanted in the modern market. Researches are also carried out in the field of organic synthesis and paintwork materials. Before they come to the consumer, all materials are given to a thorough control. The analytical laboratory provides for the control of raw materials and finished products.
The enterprise has quality control system ISO 9001 introduced and successfully operating.
